    Thats why I got the MCD - it plays audio CD's as well.

    Aside from CDs what other differences are there between this and the MFD?

    It has a built in TMC box as well!

    Functionally it works the same as the MFD but it has buttons as well to switch audio sources, from cd > radio for example. On the MFD you have to go into a submenu to do that!

    Also has fast forward and rewind button which the MFD doesn't.

    You just don't get that "Simpson-esque" cartoon map display.

    The display replicates the one you would see in the dash display (the one in the pic below is just the compass mode display).

    The buttons match the climatronic better too



    Lot cheaper on ebay too.

    Installed and working

    Hey all, thought I should reply to this thread that I started and thank you all for the assistance given. So it's all installed and working perfectly with the Whereis map CD V14. Also installed the 6 CD changer into the glovebox without cutting holes anywhere, the changer just sits loose in the glovebox and it's not a problem, closes fine and doesn't skip etc. If anyone requires assistance with something like this in the future, like where to obtain the map CD, let me know

    where did you plug the gps antenna into?, the back of my mfd1 only has connection for radio antenna

    near the fan there is a knob that turns, underneath is the plug for the gps antenna.
