Cool Installing a FORGE turbo inlet hose

    Hi vdubbers,
I bought this FORGE turbo inlet hose off ebay recently for about $149usd (firefly051).I did think it would be pretty easy but it was a bit of a knuckle scrapper type job.I would recommend at least a hoist or proper stands so you can get underneath easily.
    Ok,No1 photo,im just showing the bag pipe!hehe(TIH)

No2 photo,Undo all the clamps on the pipes on top.pretty simple, dont need to show photos of that, its self explanatory.

No3 photo, showing the difference between stock and FORGE hose, note the spring on the ground in between.flick this off when its on the car so as to seperate metal pipe from hose to make it easier to remove.

No4 photo shows the hex head nut holding the metal turbo inlet pipe to the turbo.undo this without burning your knuckles like me,and pipe will come off by pulling slightly.also just behind you can see a philips head screw.remove this pipe and DO THIS UP LAST!!!

no5 photo is where the fun starts. You must somehow jiggle, twist(SCREAM dirty words!) the hose between the turbo and the black metal pipe(look just behind the whitish tube),trust me ,its a really tight fit.didnt think I could do it but I persisted and it worked.use a screw driver to flip the pipe over the lip of the turbo.REMEMBER to put the clamp on the hose first, otherwise you will have to do again.
ALSO,, dont do up any top pipes or airbox now,,feed the turbo connecting side first as you really really REALLY have to push and juggle past the black coolant pipe!!!

no 6 photo, once the clamp is done up on the turbo, put all the relevent pipes and diverter back to where they were.I had to block one hole on the hose that was not in use,but the plug was in the kit.
    FINALLY should look like this!!!

Power difference was slight, maybe because I already had the larger turbo inlet pipe, but I did notice mid range to high was more smooth.
Please guys, can we keep this one without all the chat about what you sell and why I didnt buy it from whoever.Im happy to answer any questions in regards to installing this hose and any performance related questions.

only took me about 1hr all up.dont you think its better for our members if we had our own photos and instructions(and ability to ask questions),instead of having a site full of links to other people?

gpk, thanks heaps for taking the time to photograph and write-up the process for this mod and also the DV install in another thread. Very useful and reassuring for someone such as myself who has just bought a GTI and never done any mods before.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who will find these how to's very useful. Thanks again!

Cheers for the guide, I'll be doing this very shortly on my A3.

I'd feared it was a bitch of a job.
