What are the benefits of doing that? I can't see any, it doesn't fit as well and pressurised air is on the side of the piston and can't leak past when fitted as stock anyway.

beats me, its apparent when any a/market dvs to be installed in reverse so ive been told by Forge Direct, GFB and other suppliers as well.

its fits exactly the same, otherwise theres something not right there? both gtis we have are fitted reverse..

conversation with FORGE reseller in the states, and owns a really quick 1.8t jetta,
    qoute----
    gpk says:
have u heard of ppl puting their diverter valve back to front?
    says:
    reversing the DV
    says:
    yeah
    gpk says:
    wat does that do?
    says:
they think its got a better sound.....
    says:
    and better response
    says:
    ....yeah, OK
    Gpk says:
    u believe this?
    says:
    if it did
    says:
then why wouldnt the manufacture do this from the start?
    gpk says:
    exactly

    says:
Because the Forge 007 is just a souped up version of the origninal BOSCH
well thats my philosophy as well,If it was meant to go in reverse why didnt the manufacturer specify that on the their website and in the box?

everyone has the right to decide exactly how they do things with their car.you want to put your gearbox back to front or install 4 intercoolers or whatever ,its your choice.

wow, im running my intercoolers upside down too, all 6 of them lol

i was told by the VP Chainey to run them in reverse....

Forge direct told me this, not from some reseller and im passing the info on is all. Run it anyway you like realistically as you said, long as your happy with how pretty it looks in the end :p

and its a "souped" up version, wow!.. the oem bosch dv is plastic and collapses, disintegrates and wears out very quickly. GFB, Forge, Bailey, TurboSmart, etc are aftermarket ones usually made from high quality alloy/steel and can be serviced for obvious reasons and can also hold much larger boosts as well. hence why forge for example have difference springs for different feel on throttle/boosts.

Thanks boys, you both have provided valuable input into the forum, however there is no point making fools of yourselves by arguing amongst yourselves.

'No man wins an argument on the internet' - confusius

If you object to someones perspective, leave the thread alone if there is nothing positive to say about it. If you want to share a different 'objection' I suggest beginning a new thread.

I am not going to cull your posts - I respect you will find middle ground - thanks!

I'm not 100% sure and correct me if I'm wrong but i think you'll find that the spring will control how much vacuum is needed to open the valve, tighter spring and you need more vacuum to open it. so at idle the valve is shut and only when the throttle snaps shut i.e during a gear change the valve opens.
