    it depends on how quickly you want to valve to open when you get off the throttle. softer spring will release pressure much before a harder spring. people often use a harder spring so they get a much sharper noise as apposed to a long whoosh.

    as you said.

    from forge itself, it says this:

    Green = 15psi
    Yellow = 15-23psi
    Blue = 23-30psi
    Red = 30+ psi

    So work out what boost your chip is giving (yellow for nearly all chips)

    hope that helps

    I'm pretty sure they mean what pressure the valve can hold itself shut with, as with any valve if you have too much pressure it will leak.

    just digging up an old thread
    i've been reading about diverter valves for the last hour or so, and am still confused about what types there are.

    it looks like a reasonably easy install from what i can see (hopefully maybe), so now i just need to source one. from what i've read, the Forge Motorsport DV is quite popular, where i'm confused is, do they have a diverter valve, and a splitter valve? or are they the same thing?

    i don't really care much for a blow off noise... but i've only been able to find splitter valves for sale. any guidance very much appreciated.

    anyway, the reason why i'm looking at this now is at my last service, my servicer reckoned i was losing a couple of psi of boost due to my stock diverter valve as my car is not running as quick as it should be. i don't want to pay the million dollars to have him install it!

    Forge 007 is the one to get. direct replacement for the std plastic one. You might need a couple of new hose clips.

    Gavin

    They look like this.

    EDIT if you fit it back wards the engine cover doesn't fit so well IMO

    Thanks for the plug, gpk_gti !!! Just so you know. I can have them shipped for $150 USD right now. If two or more are purchased at once. At least $5 USD can be saved per valve per order. If I have an order of 10 or more I can gaurantee $20 USD off per valve.

    I can work something out with the Forge Splitter as well.

    If anyone is interested PM me. As gpk_gti can atest I am pretty honest so you can trust me.
