Hi all,

I was giving the car the once over on the weekend and noticed that there seemed to be a bit more "oily film" under the car. I know it has a small rear main leak that I am monitoring but there seemed to be a bit more muck than usual.

Upon further investigation, I noticed that every bolt on both inner CV joints was loose...not only loose but they had all screwed themselves up to 10mm out.

I am guessing that had the bolts come all the way out, the drive shaft would have come away from the gearbox...with disastrous consequences.

I am guessing that as I have just replaced all the disc rotors, the old ones with the runout/shudder could have "rattled" the bolts loose.

I just thought I would let you know...something to keep an eye on when you are servicing.
