Indicator ticking noise from dash - 04 MK4 GTI

Hi All,

was wondering if anyone knows the fix to a random problem where by a ticking noise (similar to indicator) is coming from near the front air vents on the dash. This has just started today, any suggestions as tried to do a search on this.

Indicator stalk has worn contacts.

The ticking noise for the indicators comes from the hadard light switch in the dash.

as above. comes from the indicator stalk contacts.
I sorted mine by spraying contact cleaning down the stalk.
first time it stopped for about a month, second lot of spray has stopped it for the last 1.5 years or so.
Some time it can just be dirty contacts, other times worn or damaged parts.

Just to test it, with the ignition on, just move it slightly in any direction, and you should be able to repeat the problem you're experiencing.

Thanks guys, sprayed the contact spray down there and its stopped.
