    I want an exhaust!

    So,

1.8T GTI. Revo'd, K&N and eventually a front mount. I want a good turbo back exhaust <$1000. Pref 3" dump pipe and a 2.5" system after that.

Anyone recommend something? Or somewhere to build me one custom?

    Cam.

currently i have a billy boats 2.5 inch stainless catback on my gti. Havent got anything done from turbo to cat or high flow cat as of yet though.

I picked up the BB exhaust very cheap from someone in as new condition, but youre looking at close to a grand fro a high qual stainless catback. Would you be happy with mild steel? Realistically, you could get something custom made up turbo back with a rear remus muffler (nice flow and quiet) and a high flow cat if you so desire for around 1000 bucks id imagine.

under 1000 would be a little hard,

go to a local shop to you and get a quote i find, half the time you see exhausts that are mass produced are ludicrously expensive or cheap junk. Get someone to fab you a custom one, may work out cheaper than the ludicrously expensive ones, and will provide you the choice you desire.

    my 2 cents

You could try a 42 Draft Designs exhaust for $785USD + postage - that's for the value line 3" downpipe with cat and 2.5" catback with a hidden tip. Extra if you want ceramic coating or an exposed exhaust tip. It's probably what I'll end up getting (at least the downpipe).

I had my 3" turbo back exhaust custom made by a local exhaust shop. Cost me $1600 but is quality work, never had any cels or nasty rattles and it doesn't drone on the highway.
