    haha

to convince you, you can sprout "ive got BBS LM's........and watch people who know get all gooey"

or you can be normal and love the rims...

what are the other option anyway?

if you are going for coil-overs you will want a final ET30 offset on your wheels otherwise the wheels will rub on suspension on 18x8 or wider. If you Run Bilstein Adjustable suspension even 18x7.5 et35 hit hard up against the Suspension spring location rings.

BTW - awesome looking Jetta especially in white.

I will eventually be going to coilovers - I suspect/hope the Bora Sport 17" alloys will be fine, but if I go for 18s, I'll keep that in mind, thanks!

Hey welcome to the 2003 V6 4mo club,i can't see the pics as im in work and the are blocked(ill check them out tomorrow)

I have koni coilovers on mine with 18x8 BBS RC's offset et35 i have it sitting pretty low and have exp no rubbing issues.

The 2 essential mods for me were suspension and exhaust, everything else came after that.

    Thanks Shane.

I thought about exhaust for a bit, but then the car's NA (so far), and I figured the gains wouldn't be that great. I'd be keen to hear if your experience is otherwise.

Suspension and brakes are my first mods (obviously!). I want the car handling and stopping properly before I start increasing power.

Well on a big NA car the exhaust gains can be decent,i have a K&N panel filter and a milltek cat back exhaust fitted and my car dyno'd at 220bhp,i also fitted ECS stage 2v2 front brakes(porsche boxster calipers and massive 2 piece discs) these will fit under any OEM 17" wheel or larger without the need for spacers.

Interesting information on the exhaust. Did you do before/after dyno graphs when you had it fitted, I'm interested in seeing not only the peak gain, but also the difference made throughout the rev-range. I've heard that a bigger exhaust can help up top but reduce torque down low, and I want to be sure I'm doing the right thing if I go that way.

What size are the discs on that setup? I've picked up a set of OEM MkIV R32 brakes (fronts and rears), I'm pretty sure they'll satisfy me for the time being. Gotta find some wheels to fit now, I'm still keen on the 17s that were fitted to the "Sport" version of my car if I can find a set in good condition. The 18s that came on the MkIV R32 would be nice too, but they seem to be even rarer than the 17s from the Bora Sport, and would certainly be more expensive.

Just like to butt in with a general exhaust question... if you go for extractors and a full exhaust system... do you throw a cel? Due to the wrong back pressure? I may be imagining things here. Sorry for hijack. Oh and I reckon the Bora has a nice sleeper status with the stock exhaust.

The discs are 332mm 2 mm smaller than R32 discs but 2 piece so lighter and less prone to warping through over heating.

The R32 set up was my original choice but the are so heavy i couldnt justify them.

Im not sure if you are aware of this or not but your rear brakes are identical to R32 brakes i.e 256mm vented discs

Im not sure about the exhaust throwing a cell,to be honest im not sure what you mean by extractors? i think we may have another name for those lol

Which 17" alloys are you after the brands hatch ones? or the long beach ones? both were avalaible on the 4mo around these parts and both are readily available on ebay.de or ebay.com for decent money.

Extractors are exhaust headers (or call them what you will) in which the length of tube on each cylinder is optimised to create the perfect flow in the exhust pipe once they have all come together and head out the back.
