You are going to be looking at an exhaust manifold, turbo, intercooler and piping, ECU tune, that's just the basic hardware. Then you have to get someone to do it if you don't have the experience... It's going to cost alot... Possibly well over 3G.

Or you get the 1.8L turbo out of the GTI, out of a wreck and drop it in with little or no engineering.

I would do the latter, but that's just me, and I'm not spending your money.

would it just be easier to buy a turbo kit?
also would the audi a4 2.0t manifold fit on the golfs engine?

buying a crashed mk4 gti would be a lot cheaper than a turbo kit. Not worth the effort though. Youre better off selling your car and buying a mk4 gti.. Its the cheapest way to upgrade.
Id think nothing from a A4 will fit. Completely different layout.

No. The 2.0L in your car is an 8 valve, but the 1.8L is a 20 valve.

As Tim said, you would be better off selling you 2L and then buying the GTI.

Pickles auctions to pick up written off cars. Look online.

    alright thanks guys!
is there any other mods you would recommend?
i have already installed a k&n high flow panel filter and a new exhaust system.
what else besides a turbo would get this golf going quicker and harder?
