I had a 1998 MK3.5 Cabrio (Mk3 Cabrio with Mk4 cosmetics)with the 2.0L engine, electric roof & 16x7 rims. It was a $52,000 car when new.
In 2006 I paid $13500 for it with 90,000km on the odo and it was a nice straight car with some minor issues that were fixed relatively cheaply.
When I was hunting for a GT Sport last year, the trade-in varied between $6k-$8k and I finished up getting $12500 trade-in on the Skoda. By that time the car had ~130,000km. The dealership had it on the lot for ages trying to sell it for $14500. Hope that helps with your pricing
