My first car ran out of fuel in the next street from where I picked it up. I went back and the guy who had sold it to me was gone, it had only been 10 minutes. This set the tone for what turned out to be a big lesson for me in getting ripped off buying a car. There are some things about being 17 I don't miss.

Most of the time i can fairly safely get 50km once the light goes on. Also managed to have filled the car up with 64L Average fill up is for 61L

I've got a 2.slow but I've also managed to fill up 63L or so and I've managed to go about 40 kays or so before I decided that I'd rather not run out and gave in

When my light comes on I get 50 klm easy out of reserve. Haven't really checked the fill up ltr afterwards though. I'll check next time. If I get 500 klm out of a tank I'm happy

I got 724k's out of a tank on a highway trip once. I didn't mean to go that far but I miscalculated and didn't realise that when the light came on there wasn't a petrol staion for another 70k's. In normal driving I average around 9.5l/100 but I have seen it down as low as 7.8 on the MFA on an all highway trip at speed limit+ around 4-5k's an hour.

That doesnt sound right! isnt the 2lt only a 50 something tank.

Also guys need to calculate on liters, not KM. KM will be effected by the roads (hilly/flat), driver (accelerating hard), car (fully loaded, roof racks on) etc, so its like saying how long is a piece of string when it comes to how many km you can get

Most cars get about 30 - 50 km of travel once the fuel light comes on. Not a good thing to let it conk out, kills the injectors and other bits I am told
