As for cancelling your service light :
push and hold odometer button , turn ignition on while holding odometer button . Let go of button and then with the clock button turn clockwise .
If you dont have the centre display but its flashing in the odometer section you need to just press the odometer button to cylce through the menu (there are 2 service lights to cancel ! )

Press Fan Down, Temperature Colder, ECON at the same time. IIRC, setting 16 is speed.

    Others are pretty useless.

Does anyone know if there is oil temp readout? It'd be nice to have one of those

You can view all sorts of information by accessing Vag-com including oil temp and pressure. What I found to be quite interesting is on a quiet road, I accessed the ABS Brakes, knowing full well it would turn all of the Safety systems off. It also turned the AWD system off, which was fun to say the least as I didn't realise how little grip I had up-front when the power is channeled through just the two wheels ! Big black marks here I come lol !

I am sure you could ! Give it a go... I am not responsible for any damage caused but I doubt you would do anything best to check with a well-known VAG mechanic first though.
