high pitch whistle coming from here! normal or not?!

Hey guys, car is running absolutely fine but i get a high whistle sound only when throttle is applied quickly (doesn't keep going) and was wondering if this is normal?

its a 1.8t chipped

I reckon it's a non-return valve and should be there VW fitted it. You could try putting a new one in. Or take that one out and make sure you can only blow through it in one direction.

ahha i see, i'll try that later on tonight. could it cause a leak hence losing power (it feels like the smallest loss in power but still a loss)?

also mate on here helped me out the other day checking vagcom and such and we realligned the throttle body when the engine was at running temps. could this have anything to do with power loss?

Did you do the throttle boy alignment with ign on only?????? running is a big no no. That vale in the picture is a non retrun valve, there is around 3 in system and must be kept on. Whistle sounds like a charge leak , any small leak on a vac line, loose clip or even a faulty non return valve will for sure cause a whistle.

throttle allignment was ignition on only. i read it's only meant to be done on a cold engine, engine was still warm. i changed all the clips to high quality ones and still a little chirp only on a blip of throttle.. it does go away i believe when the turbo spools. i blew through the one way valve and i could easily blow one way but the other was much harder to push air through.

You shouldnt be able to blow through it both ways mate, one way yes other no, if you can bin it. Throttle body alignment should be ok mate, and good that you did it with ign on only, that can really stuff them up which makes it an expensive little exercise.
