There are plenty of cars with decent HID lights. Just need to spend the money to get good quality units. Also padding out where the unit sits helps to prevent the lights bouncing and vibrating around. Don't worry, I've taken the time and put in the effort to make these lights as problem free as possible because I agree with you, there's nothing worse than a w*nker with blinding lights on a dark road. Personally I think they would do better to stop the cars with the driving/fog (whatever you want to call them) lights on. Especially in the wet when it all reflects off the road.

These lights are far safer than the ones I had because I can actually see where I'm going on dark country roads in Tasmania. I have never been flashed by anyone to say they are too bright and I have driven opposite to friends in low cars and not a single one of them has ever said that they were blinded in any way. I am actually aware of how bright these lights are prior to buying them because I did do some research so I went over the top to make sure mine wouldn't cause a problem to other road users. I have sat behind police cars on the freeway in Victoria and as far as I'm concerned, if they dont pull me over and ask about the aftermarket headlights and why they are blinding people, they aren't blinding people. Especially with how strict the Victorian police are with P platers.
No mattter what you do it doesnt make them legal without levellers at the very least.

Yes if you could that would be great, Thanks.

The levellers just adjust the lights down when there is weight in the rear of the car, my lights are already adjusted down to compensate for that on a day to day level, when i load up to go home from uni I check where they are aimed and adjust if i need to. Don't worry, I'm not an idiot with them, I know how bright they are and how dangerous that would be if it was in your face.

the sellers name is "pointblankauto" and looks like he still has the same kits.
this is the link for the 6000k kit - http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...d=190368776397

The lights aren't blinding at all unless you point them all the way up, I just got my lights levelled by the mechanic and keep the little level adjuster on 2 all the time.

I cutomed projectors in my bora wity HIDs aimed perfectly .. never got flashed by anyone .. ever ..

They can be done right .. so please if you happen to have a non constructive opinion regarding the matter .. kindly keep it to your self .. we arent throwing HIDs in the reflectors of our VN commodores

    exactly.

Dylan: You being wound up with being blinded is the same as me getting pissed off at being told to take my perfectly safe lights out of my car because they are brighter than normal lights. It gets me wound up because people stereotype the lights to idiots who don't know what they are doing...

I know it sucks when people get the ****s with you because you break the law. Everyone should be able to be a able to be criminal in peace.
When I robbed the bank the other day... those cops were so upity. I mean I know what I was doing, I did lots of research. It was safe not like all the other wanker bank robbers. I used a Euro getaway car and everything, no commodors or WRX.

I think your analogy of a bank robbery is slightly different to headlights... There is a bit of a difference...
HID's are legal with the correct attachments. Levelers and washers. Whilst I don't have these fitted to my car, I have already done the job of a leveler, it just isn't automatic and I've also done the job of the washer by cleaning my lights.
So please, if you do have nothing better to do than crap on about somebody's headlights being illegal and blinding when you haven't ever seen the car or a photo of it, take Golf-Sam's advice and take your complaints elsewhere. Every VW owner with HID's has heard it all before and quite frankly we are all sick of it. Do not assume we are all idiots, most of us know what we are doing. If people are not flashing us on the road (I've had my lights in for over 6 months and have done plenty of night driving on busy roads) that means that my lights ARE NOT BLINDING! Get off your high horse and keep your repetitive opinion to yourself please.

"Rules are for fools and the guidance of wiser men"
Have you ever broken the speed limit while overtaking on a straight road in a perfectly safe place? Thats breaking the law. If you haven't, let loose and live a little or buy a prius.

Now can we please get back to the original reason for this thread.
Thanks SLAJ for the info, I'll check it out. Appreciate the help.
