    Hey Peeps

Im new on here and Ive got a dilema, my Wife n I are after a new car, Im set on either a Mk4 Golf Or Bora n she's fine with it (YESSSSSSSSS!!!) I prefer the Bora, but were not fussed either way. Im just glad to be getting out of wrecking yard rescues we've been driving for the last 7yrs!!

We have 10k, the car needs to be auto, and with only 10k or there abouts
(14k if I we push it) I know the Gti n The r32 are out of the picture, so which is the car to go for, I mean, model n spec wise for the money...which is the best engine package? what model should I hunt for? and what price should I expect to pay for a really well taken car?

all the help we can get will be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers Will.

Keep looking, $14K is now the ball park for an early MK4 GTI.
Someone on this forum sold for less thank $15K in the last week or so.

I'd go for a mk4 Sport. Has the advantage of the 2.0 engine, without the insurance cost worries of the GTi...still looks smart and being at the end of the mk4's lifespan, might be able to find a low km example as well.
    Good luck!

Bora is great bang-for-the-buck. $9k-12k at auction will find you a 2.0 Bora Auto (say yr 2000-2002) with reasonable klms, and driven by a more conservative buyer than a Golf....

$13k should get you into an early GTI. Do it.
