Hi all,
A few weeks ago my brakes started to shudder and vibrate up through the brake pedal and steering wheel as well...great I thought, rotors machined/replaced and pads too.....and the pads show little or no wear.
Then a funny thing happened...it rained.
I drove around in the rain for a couple of days and since then the shudder/vibration has almost gone...certainly gone enough for me to not consider doing anything with it just yet.
I am wondering if driving around in the rain could have cleaned/dedusted a lot of the braking components / abs sensors etc?
Could the shuddering have been caused by a build up of brake dust / glazing of the pads or something else?
I could have sworn it needed the brakes doing...now I'm not so sure.......
Has anyone else come across this before?

Actually they're a 334mm rotor and I don't think I've ever seen them fit under a 17" rim. I know people have had issues with certain 18" designs that won't fit over the brakes. Also if you have a puncture you will need either the same rim or an Audi 8L S3 space saver which will only fit over the rear brakes and not the fronts.
Yes you will also need the full setup with Calipers as well as rotors and pads. None of which are cheap. From VW Australia you're looking at $500+ per front rotor and over $300 for a set of front pads. No idea on the cost of the calipers.
When the dollar was much better I got both rotors delivered from the US for less than $500 and EBC red stuff pads front and rear for about $300 from memory. Slotting the front rotors cost me about $100 locally.
Cheers,
Trent

Hmmm, I've been told (I'll have to confirm, since I have 17s coming) that the OEM 17" Bora Sport V6 4Motion wheels will fit over the R32 brakes. I believe the rears on the R32 are the same as the rears on my Bora V6 4Motion too.
I'll have to get all this confirmed!
Nothing to see here...
