Help to identify part on Mk4 1.8T

    Hey Guys,

I was hoping that somebody could help me identify this part and what it's purpose is. It's on a friend's recently purchased Mk4 Gti. He is running a N75J valve and it is connected to the pipe running down from that towards the turbo.

Sorry if this has been covered before, but i can't seem to find anything on it.

    Thanks,
    Slaj

That's definitely not stock. Is that the line going from the n75 to the waste gate? Could be a bleeder valve?

Yeah from the n75 to the wastegate, i've never seen it before. The only thing i could think of is that it might be there to block boost spikes from the N75???

Shouldn't be any boost spikes if it's tuned right and definitely not on a std car. It is a bleed valve though.

Looks very much like a anti-hammer device similar to domestic water application.

Thank's Gav, The car hasn't been tuned yet, the only mods so far are 3" TBE, N75J valve and this thing all done by the previous owner

He probably put that bleed valve in for extra boost. I say take it out and get a proper tune. More boost without more fuel is not a good thing

Thank you man, and yeah it boosts about 10psi on a stock tune... So that sounds right. He is planning to tune soon so i'll make sure he takes it out then.

    Thanks for the help
