    help?

    so i took my bora to the shop today for a service and apparently i need new rear bushings and rear axle beam, now the shop was charging me 2500 to fix all that...

    i know i can get a rear axle bushing kit for under $100 but where can i get a rear axle beam...

    You may want to get a second opinion from a VW expert like Peter Shelley at Canberra VW Centre before you panic.

    If it was Peter that said you needed it done, then I suggest, that you need to have it done.

    well my rear camber out the back is pretty uneven -4 on the drivers side -2 on the passenger side. so something is wrong, would like to get it fixed but not at that much lol.

    More information is needed, have you had any suspension modifications done? Springs etc? I am no mechanic - so hope someone else can ask some more pertinent questions. Good Luck.

    nah no modifications done all stock, but probably taking it to vw is a good idea.

    Ask the workshop for the VW part numbers for the parts they say will be required, and what pricing they're giving you for those prices (and thus, you'll know by subtraction what the labour is worth).

    Then shop around on the parts - there are several places that can get parts in, many are cheaper than dealership pricing (which is where most independents get their parts anyway).
    Nothing to see here...
