HELP WITH 2 ISSUES: Reversing lights & ABS warning light

    Colleagues,

My ridiculously low km '04 R32 has simultaneously developed the following 2 issues for which I'd appreciate any assistance.

Issue 1: Reversing lights have just decided they don't want to work anymore. Globes & fuses OK. Maybe the sender unit at gearbox? Any other suggestions?
Issue 2: The ABS warning light has decided to annoy by coming on soon after driving off. May go off but further annoys by coming back on.

Haven't won the lottery, so before taking to local VW dealer, wondering if fixes are fixable as DIY jobbies.

    Thanks in anticipation

ABS could be worth checking to see if any wires or clips are broken at the brakes.
best to get a scan to narrow it down.

Will need a scan to diagnose the ABS light.

Reverse lights not working, is probably the reverse switch on the gearbox. Unplug it, join the two wires together at the plug with a paper clip or similar, turn the key on, and see if the reverse lights come on. If they do, replace the switch.

Many Thanks for your welcome advice.

Have booked into my local regional VW dealer for the "scan". 1st time I've used them in their very modern premises. Hopefully I won't have to sell a kidney to pay for it.

    Cheers
