    Headlight chrome. HELP

    Hey guys,

Well, i've found myself in a bit of a pickle; since i've had my mK4 R32, its always had a gecko in the drivers side headlight, so i had all the front end off today and thought i'd take the light out and take the little fella out and give it a clean as it was all 'dusty' inside, so i f*cked around for ages taking the lens off (what a bitch) and then took the gecko out and started rubbing it with a microfiber cloth when, the reflective chrome on the light just started coming off!!!

So, now i'm stuck with the problem that half of my light now has no polish left on it, and its just a kind of transparent/yellow plastic...not, cool.

Is there any way to fix this? I was going to do the blackout, but that would mean i'd need to pull my other light apart and i just don't want to do that...

Can anyone maybe point me in the direction of some cheap "OEM" look housings, or something?
    HELP! .

    There's no stopping those gecko's!
Sorry got no clue as to how to fix your lack of chrome but was just amazed that you had that little fella in there.

Well, i think his entrance was because the previous owner has SOMEHOW snapped the tabs off the mounting point for the Xenon backing, so it's not exactly "secured", as i found out...

If i find a solution, it will be getting siliconed back into place!

    Doesn't sound good

My driver's side housing has dust in it also, I'm just going to ask whoever services it next to blow it out with an air compressor. Funny though that the passenger side is sealed and there is not a spec of dust inside.

About the clips being broken on the housing itself, it's something that happens when techs don't know what they are doing.. I have clips snapped off my engine cover because of such techs.

Yeah; in their defense, the plastic under that bonnet is bullsh*t brittle!
