i have narva ones first set was there brightest legal bulbs, were great but ended up in my gfs mirage as hers sucked.
i then for the next brightest (closer to white), they look nicer but the light seems to just bounce off the road and not light it if its raining.

Golf headlights have separate bulbs for everything. 4 bulbs each headlight.
Except he has a Bora, which has combined normal/high beam.

Well i got a set of the x-treme vision and well im a bit disappointed. They don't seem to do that much more than the OEM bulbs (osram bilux) But i could be wrong

My Philips X-Treme Power bulbs were considerably better than the OEM ones (I even tried a new set of OEMs first).

You will NOT get HID-like levels of lighting out of standard incandescent bulbs though.

Well after driving quite abit at night with my Osram Nightbreakers v2 I think they are worth every dollar.

Nice white light and considerably better range.

Yeah i know that, still nothing compared to my dads euro. But it says on the box that it has 100% more light but still throws the same distance and pretty much the same brightness. I had one installed and the other OEM and couldn't really tell the difference.

shenanigans, did you fit them yourself ? I just ordered a set and reckon i could put them in myself. Then someone said I should get them properly aligned at a garage. But the youtube videos seem to be pretty straightforward. Is there anything i need to look out for ?

Nah easy enough just a bit of stuffing around getting trim pieces off. Don't touch the glass and you should be fine. Shouldn't really need to align them again

OK, I'm not sure if I've done something wrong, but my Philip X-tremes are a HUGE disappointment.

    more specifically-
on low beam they're quite good, you can see a brighter beam than the old ones, but that's about the only good thing. I flicked the switch to high beam, expecting to see to the end of the street, and nothing changed. The 'direction' of the rays in front of the car changed, but it's like the beams are going up into the sky or something, cos they ain't lighting up **** on the street...

I'm thinking maybe I didn't put the globes in properly, but there's only one way they fit in, and it's not like the side they're facing when sitting in the globe bay matters, right ?

at this rate, i'm considering swapping the old ones back in. Such a pain in the arse though, cos it took me 2 hours to put the new ones in !
