After a weeping fitting on the mocal sandwich plate I found that the aero fitting supplied with the plate was wrong. The fitting had an NPT thread but the Mocal wanted a straight thread (I think BSPP) with washers like these: Stat-O-Seals - O-Rings & Washers - Fittings & Adapters - Aeroflow Performance. The NPT probably only had the top two threads actually engaged in the plate and could have been stripped easily if I'd gotten stuck into it and was nowhere near able to form a seal.
    Engine ok?
Was a bit of user error.. was in a rush in between meetings and noticed the fitting weeping, so nipped it up, hose binded and kinked, built up pressure and the fitting was the first thing to let go...

I have NPT fittings in the BSP ports and no issues there. Hopefully get replacement hose next week, or I’ll have to make some - $$

Noticed it fairly early I think, but there was still plenty of oil in it and drove it home fine with a bit of roadside fixing.

That's a scare. Sounds like it might be ok then which is good. Did you end up hillclimbing at Ringwood at the start of the year?

Nah was mid 30c up here. To hot for my minimal mechanical sympathy.

I’ve entered the event on the 24th of this month though!

Got out to the local hillclimb track today.

Started off a bit miserable but by the first runs the track had dried and the clouds had parted. By the second session the track had some heat in it.

Car went well all day minus the issues I knew it had. Being the brakes are spongey after a good press and the Haldex is intermittent.

I am at a loss for the pedal feel, going to start chucking parts at it, starting with the master cylinder.

The Haldex led me astray once mid corner and caused me to clip a cone, which incurred a time penalty stuff my PB.

Dropped the front tyre pressure to accomodate for the non functional rear end and ended up with a 73 flat. Good enough for class win and 16th out of 53 outright.

GoPro was dodgy and didn’t get any good footage incar.

Couple spectator videos can be found at link above.

No idea. I’m going to start with a vagcom bleed, maybe air hidden in the solenoids or valleys???

I triggered it once. Sticky tyres is why abs would have been limited.

Ever since nationals last year they’ve been spongey.

Yeah that can happen. Mine basically didn't work with air at the abs.
Hook at powerbleeder up and trigger the abs via vagcom. Then bleed each corner like normal

Nice runs at Ringwood mate. I've never done A4 where you come back down through turn 2. Think I'd get lost first time through.

    Thanks!

Yeah was a bit worried going into first run as they didn’t allow track walks and I was one of the first cars up the hill so wasn’t able to watch more than 2 cars go.

First time was a 78.xx so was just cruising and finding out where to go!
