I found a small dent on my bonnet a week or so ago now, just enough to notice a ripple in the reflection as I walked past, hadn't seen it before. May or may not be from the storm but haven't had time to have it looked at. Got a couple of other tiny dents & scratches so it would be nice to get fixed but we'll see....

Still waiting on confirmation i'm getting new carpets from my insurance. At least there's no smell now, but they still got soaked in places.

I've bought written off Golf's with FAR LESS damage.

After August things will be different, insurance companies will be more likely to pay for the repair, since they won't get the same dosh selling as a stat write off.

If you get to keep it, definately ask how much to spray the rest of the car.
Usually works out to be only a couple of hundred extra, since they have to mix the paint anyways.

    Just my 2c

    Hey Mike

Any update on the assessment? I used to work in insurance for one of the major players and at times like these they generally do write it off. Not sure about the insurance company you are with, but with my old mob the assessors had a tendency to always choose the upper limit in terms of quoting repairs and generally in these sorts of natural disasters cars got written off. However i'm only speaking from my experience from working in the industry not sure about your company. If the damage on the car is significant enough, and if the car is not written off but only partially repaired, i would consider taking it further with the company if not approaching the ombudsman in regards to this. Just my two cents and hope everything works out for the best for you and everyone else that got caught up in the storms

    Cheers
    Naz
