    GTI loosing fuel pressure

When I leave the gti overnight or for 6 or 7 hours, when it starts the revs go up as normal for 2-3 seconds then drop to 0.
Start it again and it's fine. Does it everytime it's left. What clouds be causing it?

Fuel pump is on its way . If a fuel pump cant hold pressure overnight its usually the seals inside that are going . To add to that the fuel pump should be primed when you open the door as well , so if you cant hear it when you open the drivers door you may need a new door lock ...

    GTI loosing fuel pressure

Had this happen to my BMW. However, this was caused by a leak in my fuel line. Have a smell around the outside of your car to see if you can smell petrol.

    Good luck

Agree with bug racer check if the pump primes when your Door is opened.
Car will lose pressure over night this is normal nothing wrong with seal or pump.

It should also prime when the ignition is turned on so next time just try turning the key to on and leaving it there for it to prime (will run the pump for a second or so) then turn all the way to start.

Check if your interior light turn on when you open the drivers door it's the easiest give away which points to the lock being faulty.
