Hi guys,
do they ever need replacing? Also looking to do my 6 month service shortly and i,ve been using the one step colder NGK PFR7B 4853.Meant to last a couple of years I here but is there a preferred way to clean them up (used to soak them in petrol with my old cars) before screwing back in.Thanks

Yeah, IIRC it's not officially required to be replaced, but by all means do it if you think it needs it. There are some DIY vids for it on youtube, it's a straightforward job.
Not sure about cleaning the plugs. If they're getting a buildup of black stuff, it probably means they're running a little too cold and you should go back up to the stock heat range. They should be running hot enough to be self-cleaning. If it's just that slight white powdery coating, I wouldn't bother cleaning that. It's normal and it'll be back again pretty much instantly anyway.
