GT28RS - Big plans, need advice!

So first off, as the title says these are just plans. I've got *some* cash to back it up, but we'll see how far that can stretch. Nothing's set in stone and i'm pretty open to any real suggestions.

Right now I've got a completely stock '02 gti, and the plan (as ambitious as it may be) is to get a GT28RS and revo gt28rs tune on it. I guess first thing would be, is the gt28rs tune available for australian cars? I gave peak performance a quick call and they sounded like it was all good, but i'm yet to come across someone who's running one to know for sure. The only reason I'm looking at the gt28rs is that it'll only be about a thousand more than if i were to go for a k04 or ft setup (after costing in all the supporting mods).

If that's all well and good, the rest of it is down to a matter of parts. I'll be grabbing a gt28rs kit from atpturbo.com as well as new rods from ie. I'll also be grabbing a clutch kit from ECS tuning as well as any other necessary parts. The question is, what else will I need? I've also got planned (as per revo):
    New injectors (550cc)
    42DD 3" DP
Maf off of a TT or a new one through ECS
    New TIP
Some kind of front mount, i haven't thought too much about this yet so any recommendations would be good, although I am looking at an ebay Godspeed.

I guess along with that it's recommended to get:
    a highflow fuel pump
    new engine mounts

is there anything else i should be looking at? mainly little bits and pieces that aren't generally mentioned (bushes, bearings, mounts, etc.)

I'm hoping to keep the stock airbox while replacing the existing intake piping with 3", although from the sounds of it, i think i'll be limited to running a cai which i'd rather not.

Any other tips/suggestions would be appreciated, it's coming up time to replace the timing belt so I was thinking of trying to do this in one hit, if not at least the clutch, mounts and tb.

other additions to this before hand would just be some coilovers and putting on some 17"'s.

If you msg clay at cts turbo he can help you out: CTS 1.8T Big Turbo Hardware Kit: CTS Turbo

ECS is a ripoff for shipping btw you should look at 034motorsport.com for clutches, they also have lots of hardware if you wanted to piece a kit together yourself. And haltech sell a piggyback ecu called the interceptor that works with the mk4 gti ecu.

    For what it's worth...

Last GT28RS kit (to go into a Mk1 golf) i supplied was as follows..

    - DM Forged T25 topmount manifold
    - HTA GT2868R turbo (ended up upgrading from the GT28RS)
    - Oil and coolant line kit
    - 144mm DM Forged H beam rods
    - Ferrea exhaust valves
    - Injector Dynamics 725cc injectors.

I would go with Eurojet or APR for a front mount. I think Tim from Dub Addiction is selling Eurojet now yeah? Otherwise Guy H or grey import for the APR kit.

I have a black Forge TIP, used but looks brand new sitting on the shelf if you are interested.

I have a Gt2871r ( ohsnap! ) I'm going through some fuel intercooler and tune issuses now.
you can get a 3'' intercooler and plumbing from ( CXracing.com ) you will save tons of $$$$$$. just you have to get it welded.

Keep the stock fuel pump in and get a inline pump because when the factory pump is replaced with a aftermarket pump you will get fuel cut a little bit at 1/2 tank of gas. Fuel cut at 1/4 you will get fuel cut then at next to E a lot of fuel cut. The pick up is no good the stock is better. Leave it alone. get the in-line and a fuel pressure gauge to read ( psi ) of fuel. That way if your in boost on the dyno you can tell if there is a loss of pressure to the injectors.

I have VF enginnering mounts the engine doesn't move!

The dog bone mount for the tranny is a must!

Lower control arms...... get the high dens hockey puck bushings, i went full urethane I have to replace the VF mount work to well so something had to give.

Question if you start making good power..... look at getting a first and second gear selecter the rivit is going to break that's if you have the ( O2M ) tranny.

Please build the bottom end.....your wallet will thank you for it.
