    Golf MK4 Selector rod installation

    Hi
I have a new selector rod to install. It is the plastic rod to install over the 2 ball studs in the linkage. It appears as if it should push on, but on trying it obviously needs some force. Is this the correct way to install and how is it usually done?
    Thanks
    Miguel

clean the part which you are going to put them onto with brake cleaner.apply some washing up liquid ,soap or grease to the ball part and to the new part .get some adjustable grips and slowly squeeze them together..thats the way i would carry out this task...

Thanks for the reply, that is basically what I did in the end. I actually managed to get a small G clamp down there to squeeze them on.
