Question golf mk4 - do the front brakes fit on the back?

I'm doing some mods to my mk4 golf soon - 1.8t transplant, body kit, gti wheels and bigger brakes (home built gti...lol ).

Now i have a couple of choices for the front (I have standard gti and bigger TT brakes to choose from) , but was wondering if the stock disc/calipers can be made to fit onto the rears to improve those as well?

Good idea? Asking for trouble? Engineering nightmare? Can be done without too much difficulty?

Am I better off with another solution or will the rears be fine left stock?

    Thanks guys

no the front brakes wont fit AFAIK. Things like handbrakes just wont work for 1.
Id be keen to increase mine a bit too, even just as a visual 'bling' upgrade.

yeah I feel that way as well, will look a bit silly with huge tt brakes on the front and little rear ones. Wonder if it will affect braking / handling characteristics as well...
