GOLF 99-04 mk4 SUPERWHITE globes xenon

    Hi All,
Sort of addictive all this stuff!
These arrived in today's mail from a fleabay purchase I made,
How hard are the to fit?
Anyone got any tips that I may need when I get a minute to pop them in?
Any frustrating bits that i may be faced with?
Im sort of thinking I will need to take the battery out to ge to the o/s headlight, am I right?
    Is it worth bothering with?
    Thanks.

One thing you must NEVER do with these ... it touch the glass surface of them with your bare hands ... the oil in your skin will ruin them and cause them to fail very shortly thereafter.

lol they are not Xenon... they are just normal H7 Bulbs, with a Blue Contact Foam around them.

Checked the fine bule print on the pack, says on both the H7 & H3's that they are Xenon & H.I.D Look globes. Cant hurt giving it a go.

Should make them explode, coz the oil heats up

i replaced mine last week with the phillips blue vision, and they are an absolute skank to fit, easiest way to replace them (although most time consuming) is to remove the front bumper and then the headlights...

i managed to change mine without removing the bumper, but as you mentioned the battery will have to be removed

the H3's are easier as you can see what youre doing and the clip that holds them in is easy enough to do back up

my main problem was with the H7's, the clip that holds them in sort of has to be pushed in and slid to the left (if youre facing the car) and i find you have to do this without being able to see what youre doing as the position doesnt let you see properly

i found the easiest way to see what was going on was to stick my digicam in there and take a pic of the setup so i could get my head around it all, once i did this i had it all back together in no time

    have fun

edit: oh and with your H7's you should get some parkers too, there reletively easy to fit - i just used some long nose pliers/fingers to jiggle the holder a bit and it came out

ive got the blue visions, they look blue in the pack but once there on, there very white and dont look blue at all

oh and there legal - anything above 4000k is illegal due to the spectrum that they omit not being reflective dispite them 'looking' brighter or something like that

the cheaper 'blue' globes are gay as like you mentioned there purely cosmetic and dont do much in terms of vision at night

What did you think of the phillips, are they better than standard. How much better?
