    Glove box repair

Hey all, my glovebox locks have fallen inside the glovebox and door stays open. Do I need to fully remove glovebox via centre consel etc or do i pry a small flat screwdriver to lip of glovebox and access internals from there.
    Thanks for any tips

Remove the front panel, it makes it easier .. it's pretty fiddly to fix. Mine broke once and I fixed it. Lasted 3 years.

    Just. Broke . Again....

    So cbf with it.

There are six torx screws that hold the glovebox in place - three at the top and three at the bottom. It then just pulls out. (- there's a piece of trim on the right that slots alongside the radio cage which is part of it.)

You'll need to separate the glovebox door to reach the internals inside. It pries apart. It's likely that both of the plastic tabs that hold the mechanisms in place have broken off. You can drill into these and fit a screw with a washer to hold them. (see pic below)

Once you've done this you'll need to epoxy the glovebox back together. Either that or use acetone, the plastic will fuse together with acetone.

Mine is starting to come apart again. I never thought to use acetone, i will definitely try that! Glueing with epoxy was such a hassle for me

Mine broke last week and I fixed it whilst still in the car!
Used a flathead to pull the front skin off, put back together the pin mechanism with screws and washers holding them in place from where they snapped and gluedthe skin back with tarzans grip then held in a few spots with masking tape over night! (Better off using a different glue tho) Pretty easy imo! There's no need to pull the glove box out for the fix at all!

Here's the mechanism all back together with screws and washers in the centre!

    Goodluck!
