Gearbox Oil, 2nd gear synchro

Hi my second gear synchro is grinding when i change gears fast , just wondering what gearbox oil should be used in a 2003 bora v5 manual ? could a thinner oil help this problem a little bit ?

My GTI did that, it was low on oil. I replaced it with Redline MT90. That shut it up real good.

I think you are after a 75-90 that meets the spec of GL-4.


It would be worth checking the exact specs for the Bora box, it may differ to the Golf.
