Input shaft bearing, most likely.
Hey guys,
I have a R32 which when accelerating makes a whine noise, in all gears over all revs. The whine gets louder with higher revs.
This goes away when I press the clutch in, thoughts on what it could be?
Sounds similar to a wheel bearing needing a replacement.
Input shaft bearing, most likely.

If thats the case, way to prove this or whats involved to fix it?
And should I stop driving it until I fix it?
Thanks
Possibilities: Thrust bearing/clutch slave or possibly transfer case.
What it definitely is?
Input shaft bearing is rooted, so your gearbox will need to be dropped out and rebuilt.

Definitely your Input shaft bearing - mine does the same thing.
Get it done early and try to stop doing long trips on it as you'll not only make it worse but could kill your gears.
Any recommendations for shops eastern Melbourne?
