Gear box broken . . . . Again

After having the bolts in the peliquin diff let go and finding out that they originally had the wrong ones supplied I had the gear box case replaced and new ARP bolts installed so happy days......
Not quite because round 2 just started.
Most of the gear box oil jumped out the other day and on removal of the gear box discovered the lovely hole in the bell housing which is the tell tale sign of diff bolt troubles
Decided to split it this afternoon when I got home from work and this is what I found.

My spedo stopped working the other day and here I was thinking it was the sender unit (this is the gear the speedo runs off)



Do i put it back together or bin it and start again......




So next step ? not sure
+ hole in the case i can fix no problem
+ I need a new speedo gear and bit that goes to the sender unit
+ New bolts to hold the final drive to the diff
+ New clutch as the one in it is soaked in oil

Anyone know if I can buy the parts I need ?or where to get them from ? or Im almost in the mood just to send it to someone to sort it out so all I have to do is whack the box back in.

You could get the workshop who did the dodgy job in the first place to fund the repair while getting another workshop to fix it... Too bad he failed to send you a payment receipt after he repaired it the first time...

Looks like you know what your doin!!! I'm sure you can source the parts required and put it back together yourself you would definitely save labour cost. But I fully understand where your coming from in regards to sending it out and saving you a headache rebuilding. Have you quoted what genuine parts would be???

Just out of curiosity, is the peloquin a **** lsd?
What caused the rapage on the speedo gear?
If you had the right bolts the 2nd times what happened to cause the bolts to sheer off like that?

Sorry for the 20 questions, i know bugger all about this part of the golf.

Poor workmanship... The Peloquin diff is a good product, but when it hasn't been installed properly, the above happens.
The damage to the speedo drive gear was caused by floating bits of metal, likely the heads of the bolts, meshing between the gears and tearing them apart.

Peloquins are known to shear bolts, do a search.

Settle Ryan or Il shorten your chain

Yes the Diff are good and yes they are know to sheer bolts as the first lot were supplied with incorrect bolts and peloquin has addressed this issue .
What worries me tho is the first time this happened it had the old style bolt in it which were know to sheer off but then they were replaced with the ARP super dooper fantasticle bolts that were ment to out last time itself but again failed
