The fuse box on top of the battery.

Where the hell do you find the 110A fuse?
I had one go on me and now I can't find them anywhere. Is there a special name?

VW can't get them in for a while.

They are called a "Strip" fuse.
See here Metal Fuse Strips - Products - Narva
I can't say I've ever seen them in a shop before, auto electrician should have them, good luck at Christmas.

Another option to get you buy. Get a normal fuse holder and a 110amp fuse, wire that in place until you can get the correct fuse.

Jaycar have Wafer Fuses, for car audio applications mostly. This may fit, take some measurements first.
