    FukenBroken V6 Bora

Hey guys well im nero 17 years of age and well this is my first Vw , decided to get something diffrent after owning 2 fwd sr20 powered nissans and right now cant seem to get enough of it its a 2003 Vw Bora V6 4-Motion which i recently purchased for real cheap ( reason later ) so lets get on with it

    first sight

    back at home

18" audi tt Replicas(correct me if im wrong)(not currently fitted)

a bit of messing about with parts from my old car ( there is a serious reason why the whole front end is taken off )

and now lets get to the serious part
well being 17 money does kind of suck money wise so there was no chance in hell that i could have bought one of thease bad boys outright, but luckily for me my dad used to be a mechanic and ive been around cars and been repairing them since well forever. assisting in whatever my dad was up to weather it was something simple like replacing brake pads to something complicated like a engine rebuild so this brings me here a low budget and big dreams so what do you get ? ...

well i chose not to give up big dreams and have some fun along the way ( or i thought so )
at the auctions the car was described as not running so i thought it could have been a realy simple fix as the car at first glance appeared to be very clean ......

much to my dissapointment it turned out to be more serious then i had originaly thought so i started ripping the healthy looking vr6 appart

top end revealed to be unscaved and all in imaculate order so going on to the bottom end revealed a little more then i thought

the suspect of this turned out to be a snapped first conrod , cracked first piston, bent #2 and #3 conrod aswell as a damaged engine block ... no doubt about it no ressurection happening here .. so that leaves me here with a whole bunch of hopes and dreams and a awaiting engine bay ...

at the moment i have managed to find a donor BDE VR6 engine with low k's on it but cant afford the bugger right now so i guess just keep saving my my poor excuse for a paycheque .. hhehehehe

thanx for reading hope to see some positive imput

was it sold as a flood damaged vehicle?
Id say there are going to be quite a few cars popping up soon with similar engine problems.

Hopefully you can just plonk in a second hand engine and drive

unfortunately on the listing it was just described as not running and a repairable write off nothing to do with water damage hence why i bought it , but without a doubt water being sucked in was the culprit here ....

everything seems to be okay besides the engine ofcaurse so it should just be a swap and go operation

kind of sad but im not complaining even after everything its still gonna cost a lot less then the normal selling price hehe cheers for taking the time man

Have you had a chance to check out the electrics as yet? I'd be surprised if there weren't a few gremlins if it's been flood-damaged ... Looks nice and clean though

    ouch!
previous owner of my old bora hydrolocked it too driving through a deep puddle, was in the region of $3k for a VW dealer to fix it, but looks like yours is worse off.
Should have put a 3.2 in instead
Current: '04 Astra SRI Turbo - EDS IPF Flash, 3" TBE, Quaife LSD
Previously: Bora 4mo, cams, coilovers, tune, exhaust, brembo's etc

acctualy a matter of fact i did have a chance to check out the electronics and by the look of it everything does seem to be all okay with no real issues anywhere :thankgod: luckily it looks like the vehicle dident get any water in to the drivers compartment where most of the computers are located

yea i know ouch .. was hoping it would have been a easy fix but yea .. hopefully i wont have to take it to the vw dealer and get pwned

anthony any chance you might be able to put me in contact with the previous owner as to concern with log books and spare keys and such ?

    thanx guys
