Thumbs up Faulty brake light switch...and fix :)

So I have been having issues with my brake lights that I only noticed the other night. They either werent coming on or just flashing and then going off. As much as I realise brake lights are an optional extra and are there to solely enhance the visual appearance of the rear of the car I still prefer them.

I did some research and came across this link which explains he Mk4 has had a recall on the switch and explains how to replace it. Being a Sunday I thought instead of waiting I will just try and fix it. I sprayed the sh*t out of it with contact cleaner and BOOM they work perfectly now. This is a link anyway for anyone that wants to replace theirs or is having issues but before replacing try the simple contact cleaner on both sections of the switch

That brake switch in the link is an old type. They have been superseded long ago!!! Not all info is correct regarding switch installation if your buying a genuine type.
