good evening every one , im starting this thread cause i have noticed that a few people have asked about air ride in the mk4's but there are not many answer or pictures detailing how to do it or what it is .
ill update this as i go throw putting my mk4 on air so people can refer back to this when ever they like but 1st of all this is not a guide at all and i take no responsibility for any thing that you do while installing air ride in your car.
now for all you people that don't know, there are a few key components that you will need , you will need a compressor , air tank , bag's , switch box , a valve block or separate valves and a pressure switch , then all the smaller stuff like air line , gauges , water trap and power wires to power everything and so on.
so this is how im doing it , im starting off with just the rear and ill do the front later next year , i bought a few pieces and other stuff was given to me from my brother cause most of his cars are on air
i bought a set of bolt in rear brackets and 2x RE-5's Slam Specialties Bags form - Innovative Design and Fabrication | IDF | INNFAB - Home Page in the U.S.A, postage was cheap so that's all ways a plus , pictured below is the bags and brackets i bought that are on there way
i bought a AVS switch box off eBay.com as there cheaper with postage then buying on in aus , pictures below is the same one i have coming .
as for my air tank and air gauges i got given it from my brother and i ended up painted the tank to what i like ( its not finished yet)
then there's a box of random stuff i have , air line Both 3/8 and 1/4 , 1/4 is gauge line and 3/8 is for the bags , pressure switch (to turn the compressors on when the air level drops to low and off when it gets enough in it) and a few fittings for the air line to the bag and air line to the tank .
i will up date as i receive parts and when i start installing parts early next year , any question feel free to ask and ill answer best i can.
