    ESM LM Reps

    Hey there all

Any ideas re these widths/offsets and whether they will squeeze under the guards?

    17x8 With 1.5" Step Lip 20MM Offset
    17x9 With 3.0" Step Lip 25MM Offset

    My current tyres are 225/45/17

She's my daily driver so dont want any clearance issues.

Any good/bad stories re ESM wheels?

    Cheers

    Andy

    If my calculations are correct....

I think the fronts will be about .5 inch too far out. My wheels are 17x8 with an offset of 35 and they are pretty close to the guards

rears would be sweet though, prefect fitment.

    Hi andy,

check out this crowd for LM reps and some other nice 5x100s.

    VAG 5x100, BM Autosport Ltd

The guys at audi-sport in the UK rave about the quality, and how the coating doesnt peel like other reps

I contacted BM Autosport about 4 months ago regarding some CH reps and I'm pretty sure they quoted me 250 pounds for shipping a set of 4 wheels to Sydney, which I thought was pretty good.

Contacted them last night and 250 pounds is spot on.

Got me thinking about CHs in 18 now!

Wonder if I could sell the 225/40/17s??

you havnt lowered it yet looking at your pics?
if not, ill say they will be outside the guards all the way around.

Lower it 50+mm and you should be right. but there isn't actually a 'yes-no' itll fit, every car is different. also id suggest rethinking tyre sizes

What brand are the tyres? I may be looking for some new tread for my Oettingers soon.

The CH reps BM sell look pretty good, the 18x8, 18x9 staggered set with 35 offset would be absolutely perfect fitment for a MKIV. You could get them landed in Australia for under $1000.

I was pretty close to buying them but at the time the roads out my way were littered with potholes and I got nervous and bought the 17x8 Oettingers instead. Now that I am moving to Canberra (which is after all one big racetrack) my mind is drifting back to 18 inch wheels.

    No its stock suspension.

So 18x8 +35 all round with a 225/40/18 will stick out the guards?

9 Inch rears would be against the + 1 inch width law in the nanny state of NSW. Largest rim I know of was a 18x7.5 on a Mk4 which means largest legal width is 8.5 (bugger). Dylan8 seems to think they will poke out from the guards. Consensus? I though 8 inch + 35 was the deal for Mk4s?

Tyres are 2 very near new Goodyear Excellence and 2 very good Pirelli Dragons all 225/45/17. Anyone interested, PM me

Oettinger RE 17x8 were available as, I think, a dealer fitted option on the Bora Sport. Not Factory but still maybe enough to justify as you were able to buy a brand new Bora with 8 inch wide wheels.

The wheels on my Bora are 17x8 +35 and at the front they are pretty much at the limit, even half an inch more and they would be poking. At the rear they really need at least another half inch to fill the guards.
