EOI: 034 Motorsport Strut Top Mounts for Mk4

    Hi all,

I destroyed one of my strut-top mounts recently, and rather than replacing it with the OEM strength one (I'm sure we all know that they're not exactly a masterpiece of engineering), I'm looking at bringing in a set of the 034 Motorsport ones - as per this page.

They're USD$38 a side, with an extra USD$9 per bearing (which I'd recommend). So USD$94 per set.

Postage is a killer for an individual - USD$55, taking the whole deal to ~USD$150, or around AUD$190 after exchange, CC charges, etc.

However, if I bring 5 sets in, postage is only ~USD$75, making the overall cost ~USD$110 per set delivered to Sydney. 10 sets is too large a purchase, as it would attract GST and potentially duty (depending on where they're actually manufactured).

Factoring in exchange rates, CC charges, etc, let's say AUD$140 in your hands (however we make that happen).

So, given that I am getting a set regardless, that leaves 4 sets left. Let me know if you're interested, once I have 4 other confirmed buyers, I'll place the order.

Vibrations from the engine are noticeably increased but not horrible. Definitely not smooth and quiet like stock mounts, but in return you get a completely locked down drivetrain with NO slop or deflection. These are perfect for the street/track enthusiast who doesn't mind a marked increase in vibration from the drivetrain.
Do they come with chiropractor vouchers as well?

The description they've got there is actually largely taken from their engine/gearbox/dogbone mounts descriptions - which isn't appropriate for this item. I[ve asked about that, and also if they do these in the street density rubber as well as the track (but I bet the street density ones probably perish a bit quickly still)

I've been in cars with solid (ie metal) adjustable strut tops rather than the rubber ones, and they're not unduly harsh - you have the tyres and then suspension absorbing most of the impacts anyway. These wouldn't be as bad as those, given that no matter how hard the rubber, it's still rubber.

For what it's worth, I have the street density gearbox/engine/dogbone mount, and they're not at all harsh.

hey manaz, if I could get in on this with a $72 street mount dogbone that'd be sweet, cos shipping for that is $44 which is also a bit steep. to keep things simple i'd pay equal share of postage costs.
    thanks

Will see what I can do about getting the dogbone in.

If anyone else wants something from 034, let me know quick, and I'll see if we can accomodate you.
