The blunt and honest truth is there is nothing you can do apart from turbo charge it, so save your cash. Coilovers, swaybars, better rubber, bigger brakes, will be cheaper and far more effective than any performance mod.

But these wont make it any quicker, i'm in a similar situation with mine. It's a too good car to sell (got it since new) but would be nice to have a extra 10kw.

Maybe a decent exhaust... 10kw would be pushing it though. The 1.6L is a boat anchor of an engine though.

sorry to say the blunt and honest truth is you are better off selling it and buying a GTI for the price they are now. The 1.6 doesnt have any "quick" power enhancements you can do, and in the end, it'll still be slower than a GTI.... and my diesel Polo

Don't bother... You would be burning money just thinking about it. Sell the boat anchor, and buy a GTI. Leather interior, Recaro's, turbo engine, then chip and exhaust and you are looking at about 125kw at the wheels.

    I've been here.

Do a basic CAI and suspension and it's an improvement - but you're wasting money chasing performance.
