My needle never goes above halfway, but I can tell you that it gets incredibly hot under the bonnet....

i have noticed that my engine bay becomes really really hot... i know the difference between hot engines and really hot.. this is really hot..
the temp guage never exceeds the middle. but has no troubles reaching the middle instantly after commencement of driving..
wondering if this is a problem and has any else experience this in golf mk4 gtis ..

You should feel it with a 3.2L lump shoved in there. I park it in the garage which joins onto our place and the whole living area will heat up quite nicely if I don't close the door. My temp needle also never goes over half way. I reckon the heat shielding they whack under the bonnet though for cold weather probably doesn't help. Bet you I could fry an egg on the bonnet though if I took it off.

Not at all unusual for turbo cars to have extreme under bonnet temperatures - I know a few Falcon XR6T drivers who swear they can feel the heat from the turbo coming in through the firewall to their feet once the car gets warmed up.
Nothing to see here...
na just running stock turbo no ko3/4s or anything.. needle never goes above halfway.. but ye just curious if it was a problem or anything if its not then ill just get used to it..
