Also, your immobilizer will no longer work so there may be insurance implications with running an american ECU.

To the best of my knowledge the spams never got 4 motion Boras so I doubt it would be any good.

The part numbers are specific to model/engine codes and although cheap, there would be no way of predicting if that ECU would run well or even at all.

True, Need a second one to send away to be chipped and for when it comes to turbo time. Plus i have a strange feeling mine is on its way out.

get an ECU from the UK for a bora or golf 4motion.
I had one from a golf and worked well (chipped + immob defeat).
