You will need to check the part number on your current ECU to see if they are the same. I think it may be possible to use different part numbers but you would likely need to make some changes to other systems. Others may know more.
Hey,
Does anyone know if this ecu will work with Australian boras?

2003 Bora 4Motion
To the best of my knowledge the spams never got 4 motion Boras so I doubt it would be any good.
The part numbers are specific to model/engine codes and although cheap, there would be no way of predicting if that ECU would run well or even at all.
Why are you asking??
Gavin
There is a good chance it will run, but there are a few minor hardware differences (ie. secondary air injection, etc.) that could result in poor idling, error codes, etc.
Also, your immobilizer will no longer work so there may be insurance implications with running an american ECU.

get an ECU from the UK for a bora or golf 4motion.
I had one from a golf and worked well (chipped + immob defeat).
