ECS R32 Stage 1 clutch kit + aluminium flywheel. Yay or Ney?

as some of you may know i had a major problem with my gearbox recently.

well at the same time it was discovered that my clutch is extremely worn and the dual mass flywheel has a lot of play in it. so i just wondered if any of you have purchased this kit before and were you happy with it.

    any input is welcome thanks

Ive purchased it for my gti and had it installed last week. It's Very smooth now, at first I thought it was soft and was scared it was weak and I was gonna break it. The mechanic who put it in said that it's how the car's clutch is supposed to feel, and the old one felt tougher because it must have been worn the whole time I've had the car.
But in answer to your question, yes, quite happy with it, and cant beat the price.

hey thanks for the reply however i'm more concerned with the dual mass to single mass conversion on the 4motion gearbox.

didn't know the r32 had a dual mass fly wheel?
i've got the gti and the single mass flywheel (steel from ecs not alumiunium though) is quite nice, though it makes the car rattle at idle while the air con is on. a bit annoying, but other than that, cluth is very light feeling and bites well and very progressive/smooth, somthing i found my old dual mass flywheel was not

I fitted one of those to a S3 Audi A3, The response and feel of the clutch was much smoother, and felt alot better than the dual mass, ive also fitted solid G60 flywheels to 20v Turbos in Golfs which had a similar feel. The A3 made a terrible noise on idle, gearbox chatter as the weight is alot less than the dualmass. But when the car next came into the workshop the noise had gone !!!

Yeah that noise is very normal guys, remember you have deleted a big cushion from the coupling.Thats all it is.

nay for aluminium, yay for steel?

thanks for the reply guys. i've researched the area a little and decided that aluminium flywheel isn't worth it - the chatter is too loud and you lose low rev driveability. however converting the dual mass flywheel to a steel single mass looks like a good idea. the only problem is that i cannot find one

can anyone confirm if this kit could be used? http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-TT_MKI...utch/ES263786/

or does anyone know where i could source one?
