I have done the conversion with the same lights on my MK4 GTI. Turned out great. Made a DIY video too so check this out to help you with your install..

Or better yet just do the Joey mod, you can do it in an afternoon and it's even quicker with a friend!

How long ago did you do that blue_reality? How did you find the quality of the lights?
I'm considering these: http://www.parts4euro.com/DCShop/pro...roducts_id=113 at the moment...
Nothing to see here...
Lights are great. Good build. (They cost around $400 so aren't $50 bodgy ones and the rears are genuine Hella which were also around $400)
Only thing is the light pattern slants up towards the right because they are designed for right-hand road use. But all in all really happy with them.
The place I got them from is MARS_PERFORMANCE. You'll find them on ebay.
Did it a few weeks ago.
Can someone confirm that the Joey mod can be done here.
I read somewhere about the Mk4 lights here in Aus not able to be opended to paint the interior...
Anyone?
2004 Mk4 2.0L Sport (If that helps).
I made the big mistake of ordering those lights and lets just say after about 6 months of paypal disputes it was finaly resolved and i got my money back so i was lucky, i wont even start on what was wrong with them becasue there was one hell of a list but i learnt quality is everything,
