    Cheers.
Steers so much better with the solid arms, fresh tie rods and solid strut tops.
Keen to get it back on daily duties for some comfort and fuel economy

    Mounts landed. Thanks to Dean!
I always try to upgrade when possible but poly/solid mounts are no good on the 1.9s it seems.
Favourite combo by the UK guys is either all stock or oem gearbox/engine mounts with a firmer dogbone which is what I'll be doing.

Hopefully can get the engine up and exhaust on now. Free up a few more ponies at same time.

Nice choice. Genuine vw mounts are the only choice for stock mounts. I previously bought Meyle mounts and they were really average, lots of motor movement.

What durometer dogbone mount did you get? The 70a version?

Remember to get some new engine mount bolts as they are stretch bolts.

What I was worried about. Forked out a few extra dollars but should be worth it long term.
Bfi black bushes. They are the lowest rated. Have them in already and feels good.

Yep on the cards. Scary the motor suspended like that.
Already put new bolts in when I did the motor swap
I have engine spacers to go in so going to use the old bolts with the new mounts to mock it up. If the mounts lift the motor enough for now I'll just replace the bolts one by one. If the spacers need to go in now I won't have wasted another set.

My vu4 service kit has been in aus for ages now. Auspost are taking forever to get it here

Alignment done. Drives sooooo much better with fresh rubber (even if cheap stuff) and wheels pointing in the right direction

Excellent, glad to read that it is going well.

Reminds me to get the red Vento of Daughter No 1 to get the wheel align checked.

Cheers! Also got myself a mk4 service manual that covers my motor in hope to learn more about the fuelling system and fix a couple of leaks.
Got one from buddy silver dub but only covers the mk3 style 1.9tdi they put in some mk4s.

Look after them! Seeing more and more go through the wreckers. Numbers must be down on the orginal ~450 or whatever was sold here

New Osram LED number plate lights as my 42DD ones finally died after about 10years of use

R32 airbox, maf and intake pipe sorted thanks to bug_racer. I'll give them a clean up and new air filter.
Now just need to order mk4 r32 dsg snorkel, clean and fit my pd150 intake and upgrade the race pipe to a bigger one. Intake side of the motor should be sorted.
