Hey Al,
That was my first thought, but that throws codes and the VAGCOM is clean as a whistle. VW mechanic confirmed.
Did you buy it privately or through a dealer can you take it back under there like 6 months warranty thing?
I'm soo euro even my missus is shaved...
I would pull them out and check them regardless mate. If the previous owner or yard you bought it from had a penchant for washing the engine bay they can become corroded and stuff up. It just sounds exactly like a failed coilpack though I'm no expert.
If your in QLD (Bris North Side) you can check out Lawrence at German Auto in Geebung, he has always done excellent work on my car when general VW maintenance is required.

Hey guys,
I bought the car privately through a friend of a friend off a guy who posts on here. No warranty.
I will let you all know how I go.
Thanks!
Hmm. Gonna test the airbox module thing now.
Thanks guys.
Sorry Seb, we don't only sell parts (regardless of what you might think)
Anyway - on the problem, we could help try to Diagnose it for you in Brisbane, On the Sunshine coast, I would try Northern Volks (I think at Kawana) - they have the latest diagnostic gear and should be able to sort it.
Also there is Garry Crick VW, we personally know the service staff there & the service manager is a true enthusiast, so he should be able to help.
Both these will be a lot closer to you. Feel free to give us a call - or if you have another mechanic, we may be able to offer some assistance on the telephone as well.
thank you for helping our member Guy and contributing some useful information!![]()
