    drain plug for the autotransmission oil

    hi

    I HAVE HAD THE MK 4 FOR 5 MONTHS now.


    its a 1.6 litre petrol auto.1999 model.

    Can someoen tell me where to drain plug and the filler for the
    automaticj transmission oil level is.???

    welcome to the site the drain plug is the biggest bolt on the near side cover at the back of the box look for the biggest bolt it is the drain plug as for filter is internal have to drain the gearbox then drop the pan and change the filter specs are usually in the owners manual with sae ratings from factory and levels im sure, of the top of my head i believe its 6 1/2 litres but the best way to check is when it is just before the level touchs the drain hole.
