I think my door ones are glued on with double sided tape stuff - not sure about the bumpers - they seem recessed and may even have clips.
So next week my car goes in for paint... The bump strips are quite battle scared and do require a bit of love to restore them to their former glory. After having a bit of a discussion today with a few good mates, the idea of removing them all together has entered my mind..
So I put it to you guys,
To keep or not to keep? that is the question :p
Anyone able to confirm that they are either glued on? or clipped in?
Cheers.
Corey.

The bumpers are held in by clips as rolf has suggested, just keep in mind that the front rub strips includes also the entire front licence mounting plate so its a bit bigger than it may at first seem.

I have an R32, so I only have mouldings on the doors. Sorry should've been more descriptive!
the front n ear bumper moulds are clipped in while the door mouldings are glued on. after being taken off the doors you will see there are holes in the door. which will require you or a shop to fill those holes with some welding and smoothing out. if u wanna replace them direct from the dealer is pretty expensive last time I checked just the metal chrome bit was over 150 for one (for a bora or if a golf theres no chrome bit therefore cheaper) and if u get them second hand I'm not sure a wrecker will give u just that part may have to buy a whole door. either way both maybe be a little costly unless u can do the shaving of u car yourself. hope that helps.
