DIY Job! Armrest and Leather Gaiter

Hey everyone,
Sorry if this is already posted somewhere else or there's a forum dedicated to DIY jobs that I haven't found..please direct me to if it there is one!

I just bought a leather gaiter and an armrest and am looking for insturctions on how to install both, the instructions sent to me for the armrest are pretty vague and youtube videos for either don't suffice! Looking to save myself $120 by putting it into the VW garage

I put a new gaitor on recently -
Pop the bottom surround out and lift up the old gaitor
With a screwdriver or longnose pliers, remove the Brass crimped clamp
Pull the knob off and the old gaitor
Slip new gaitor over and replace the brass thingy with a cable tie
That's what I did.
Any good?
